Amy and her husband, Kurt, learned of Soddo Christian Hospital through the adoption of their youngest son, who received care at the hospital while he was living at an orphanage in Soddo. Because of her background in healthcare administration, she was drawn to the hospital’s mission to provide excellent medical care while sharing the love of Christ. She joined the foundation board in 2012, and in 2017, Amy and Kurt moved to Soddo to serve at the hospital full time.
Amy earned a BA from Baylor University and a Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her professional experience includes marketing and business planning for a large private hospital. In the US she spent significant volunteer time supporting military families, teaching teens about sexual abstinence, and hosting foreign exchange students. Amy and Kurt have been married for over 30 years and are the parents of three children – two in the US and one in Africa.
